
So it was now off to Cornwall but Terry wanted to do a classic rail journey. The intrepid group got on the train at Exeter and got off at Saltash. This enabled them to go along the coast by Dawlish and cross the Tamar on Brunel’s Bridge.

We left Bath early and decided to stop for breakfast on route. Kim found us a really great one in a village called Beckington, Mes Amis. It was small but the food and atmosphere was great. After visiting Anne Hathaway’s Cottage we set off for Bath. We decided to go the more scenic route through the Cotswolds. We drove through some lovely villages and hamlets. We stopped for a coffee and a look around at Bourton on the Water. The weather was perfect and we sat outside in the sun. Continue reading Bath
We left for Stratford and travelled to Banbury to show our guests the centre of England. We parked the car and walked across the canal with some narrow boats. We had a stroll around looked at the cross and then found a café to have a Burton bun. Continue reading Stratford Upon Avon
We left Shaftesbury and drove the two hours to Oxford to meet the train. All was going well until the last 2 miles when the traffic stopped and crawled forward. We finally got there just in time to met Terry and Jenny. As the traffic was bad we decided to use the park and ride near by to travel into the city; this was a new concept for our visitors.
