All at Sea …

Well we have gone and done it and we are now on our way to New York. We decided not to buy the on-board internet package as we thought a week without emails and text messages would be more relaxing; so we are writing a bit each day and then we will post this on arrival in New York.

Our thoughts on crossing the Atlantic on Queen Mary 2, what a wonderful way to travel! Comfortable, civilised, no jet lag, what is not to like? We have seen pods of dolphins swimming alongside the ship, Mark spotted a whale (sorry Mia it disappeared to quickly to take a photograph) and we have marvelled at the mesmerizing ocean views which are truly breath-taking. What a fantastic way to start our trip.

Getting Closer

Well with only two weeks to go it is getting pretty exciting. On Friday last week we heard from Cunard that we have been upgraded and now have a cabin with a balcony! This will make the trip even more special.

On Saturday our Audley paperwork arrived by special courier. It is all held in two Filofax folders and looks very professional.

So now its the time to start checking we have everything we need before the mass panic (or as Kim says, the orderly departure) next week.

Catching Our Breath

Stourhead Pantheon

We had a great weekend in Shaftesbury and caught up with some old friends. Mark and I had to watch the sport on Saturday, while the ladies went into town. We did not spend all our time in front of the TV, we visited two National Trust sites, Stourhead and Montecute. These are two fantastic places and well worth a visit if you are ever near them.

Yesterday we heard from Cunard about our voyage. We have received our tickets and instructions to be at the port at 15:00 on 17 July for embarkation. No news yet on what time we sail but as high tide is at 22:37 I expect it will be quite late. We have also received our tickets for the Princess cruise as well.

So it must be full steam ahead then!
