We have booked the 11th Avenue B&B for two nights in Anchorage, it is right in the centre of town so we will be able to make the most of our time exploring the sights.

What are we doing at the planning stage
Vancouver confirmed
The planning progresses. We have booked our accommodation for five nights in Vancouver, an apartment at the Times Square Suites near Stanley Park. This should be a great base from which to explore the city and to trace the Major family steps from our time living in Vancouver in the 70’s.

North American Hotels
We have now decided where we will be staying on the rest of our North American leg.
There is the Palmer House Hilton, Chicago; St Marys Lodge & Glacier Park Lodge, Glacier National Park and the Warwick Hotel, Seattle.
We are looking forward to staying at these hotels in 2016.

We have just confirmed the Mela Hotel for our time in New York. It looks like a great place to celebrate 30 years of marriage, and a brilliant base for all the things we want to see and do in the Big Apple.
The Cruise Show
We took advantage of free tickets to the Cruise Show at the NEC to do some research on European river cruises for our journey from Budapest to Amsterdam. It was time well spent, we found several companies offering the route that we weren’t aware of, and also got an idea of the season start dates for 2017.
We now need to sit down with a pile of brochures to compare the different offerings.
