Still catching up!!
We have just had a great weekend, our friends Terry and Jenny flew in from Brisbane for the weekend, hired a car and took us to see some of their favourite places in and around Melbourne. Those of you who have been paying attention will know that we met Terry and Jenny on the Island Princess during our Alaskan cruise in August, we got on really well and it was great to catch up with them again and enjoy Melbourne together. Tuesday and Wednesday this week we went to Oxford to celebrate Izzy graduating from University and being 21 (big week!). As you can see from the photo’s we had a great time and we are both so proud of her. In fact, we are proud of the whole family for everything they have achieved; especially mum!
We have also received the paperwork for our USA rail tour, New York to Vancouver via Chicago, Glacier National Park and Seattle. It looks like we are going to be busy.
On Friday, just a month by date until our departure, we booked the last few elements for our trip. We booked our flight from Dubai to Budapest and the hotels for our European rail journey home. We have booked three nights in Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Berlin and Cologne. Which just leaves the train tickets between those cities to be booked but we can’t do that until 3 months before we want to travel.
We have used Emirates for the flight and a website called RoutePerfect for the European hotels.
We had a visit yesterday from Pam & Steve from Haddenham. We had a tea at home and then went to the coast. They were blown away by the area around Avon Beach, Christchurch. Pam surprised Steve by saying she wouldn’t mind moving to an area like this; could have been an expensive visit! It was really great to see them.
Today was our last full down here in Catalonia and we went to visit our friends Geoff and Wendy who were over the border in France. They have bought a two bedroom apartment in Collioure right on the sea wall, just look at the photos!
Collioure is about one hours drive from here and it was very windy driving over the border. We arrived in time for coffee and then went to see their new place, it is absolutely fantastic. We had plenty of time for a spot of lunch before driving back to Camallera.

Tomorrow we leave this great area for another one, the Creuse valley in the Limousine region, we will be staying there until the weekend.
