Bath

The Crescent
The Crescent, Bath

After visiting Anne Hathaway’s Cottage we set off for Bath. We decided to go the more scenic route through the Cotswolds. We drove through some lovely villages and hamlets. We stopped for a coffee and a look around at Bourton on the Water. The weather was perfect and we sat outside in the sun.

We got to Bath late afternoon and decided to go straight to the hotel. This was on the river in an old mill. We settled in and had a meal in another mill on the other bank, this  involved crossing a Toll bridge which is one of only eight in the country.

So after breakfast we caught a ferry from outside the hotel and were taken to the centre of Bath, a great way to arrive. We then caught  the city hop on, hop off tour bus  to see the sights. We only got off once to see The Crescent.

We then had a wander and found a bakery with the best Bath Bun to try. It was then time to see the Roman Baths which was very well organised. From there we went to look in the Abbey and decided to take the Skyline tour. This was another bus around the hills on the outside of the city.

Back to the hotel via the boat and we saw some kingfishers! Tomorrow Stonehenge!
