Cornwall 2016 (3)

We have had a busy couple of days in the west of Cornwall.

Tuesday we went as far south as we could on the mainland UK, Lizard Point.  We parked the car at the Lizard and walked down to the point. As you can see from the photo’s the weather was fantastic and we had a brilliant visit. We then went for some fish and chips at Praa Sands and that was also lovely!

Yesterday, we all split up and did different things. Carl and Margaret stayed at the cottage. Yetti, Kim and I went to Loe Bar; yeti to have a couple of hours on the beach while Kim and I walked around the fresh water lake formed by the bar. This took us a couple of hours and we stopped for a coffee at Penrose House on the way around. We all met up again back at the cottage and went for a cream tea at Godolphin House, a National Trust property. The house looked quite unusual, sadly it was closed so we couldn’t explore but the café served great scones.

It was then back to the cottage for some down time, a nice meal and off to bed. Two full days but really nice ones!

Cornwall 2016

Where we are going.
Where we are going.

Today we are travelling to Cornwall for a family holiday and using it as a final rehearsal for the big one.

We are all travelling from different starting points and meeting at our holiday cottage. We are driving down with  Kim’s Mum from Highcliffe; Yetti is driving from Shropshire and we will meet in Exeter and Carl is travelling from Southampton by train and we will pick him up from either Hayle or Penzance this evening.

The cottage we are staying in is at a hamlet called Godolphin Cross near the National Trust property Godolphin House.

We will fill you in as the week progresses!

France And France Adventure 4

Today was our last full down here in Catalonia and we went to visit our friends Geoff and Wendy who were over the border in France. They have bought a two bedroom apartment in Collioure right on the sea wall, just look at the photos!

Collioure is about one hours drive from here and it was very windy driving over the border. We arrived in time for coffee and then went to see their new place, it is absolutely fantastic. We had plenty of time for a spot of lunch before driving back to Camallera.

Geoff and Wendy are renting the apartment for holidays, if you are interested have a look at their website, 24ruebellevue.com

Tomorrow we leave this great area for another one, the Creuse valley in the Limousine region, we will be staying there until the weekend.
